Inform Growth - Grow in Public #1
The first edition of the grow in public newsletter
Hello and welcome!
Thank you for reading the very first edition of the Inform Growth newsletter.
So, what is this? It's a weekly "grow in public" newsletter where I'll share what I'm learning, creating, and discovering as I build my company, Inform Growth.
The core direction is growth - mostly in business, with some personal development along the way. Each week, you can expect a combination of the following:
Xylem, the Inform Growth product: Behind-the-scenes product updates, new ideas, and roadmap developments.
Marketing Data News: The latest and most important news in marketing data, infrastructure, and automation, distilled for you.
Tutorials & Frameworks: Actionable guides from what I'm currently working on, showing you not just the result, but how you can do it too.
My goal is to become the best version of myself, professionally and personally, and I want to document that journey. This is for me, but it's also for you.
I can't improve in an echo chamber, so your feedback is essential. Please don't hesitate to reply to this email with your thoughts. I want to add value to your week and grow with you.
Much love, Jaron

Xylem update
Xylem has gotten a lot of updates recently, I re-organized the menu to be more intuitive and content driven and overhauled the analytics.
The dashboard shows key web analytics metrics with their related health scores, when you click on the scorecards you see valuable information and resources.
The main analytics page now has time-series charts of source/medium/campaign traffic as well as time.
The biggest piece of feedback I have gotten is that data exporting is necessary, so that is what will be worked on next.
Marketing Data news
A recent research report created by Adverity found that:
On average, CMOs estimate that 45% of the data their teams use to drive decisions is incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated.
30% of CMOs see improving data quality as the biggest lever they can pull to improve marketing performance.
31% of CMOs believe that the biggest problem with their data is it is incomplete.
One of the most interesting parts of the article to me is that:
“marketers know the data is flawed, but they’ve grown used to working around it.”
It doesn’t have to be that way though, and flawed marketing data is what I am on a mission to solve. If you want better marketing data, let me know by replying to my email or book a call with me
Guides and tutorials
One of the most important steps to making sure you have good data quality in google analytics is excluding internal and developer traffic. I went through every way that I could find existing tutorials for and came up with my own solution (that is the best and most robust).
